Kikinahk Friendship Centre in La Ronge, Sask, is seeking an Executive Director. The E.D in partnership with the Board and staff is responsible for the success of Kikinahk and assures our relevance to the community.
 

The role requires exceptional strategic leadership to advance our vision, mission, and priorities. The scope of the Executive Director’s role encompasses the management of the organization’s employees, operational budgets, accounting function, proposal writing and submission, contracts, volunteers, and community relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in management/human resources
  • Experience working with and reporting to a Board of Directors, maintaining Board meeting minutes and Annual General Meetings.
  • Bachelor degree in Public Administration, Education or Social Work preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Experience in working with First Nations and Metis peoples
  • Experience in supervision of staff in multiple disciplines
  • Successful grant writing experience
  • Proficiency in accounting and in particular the Accpac Accounting system
  • Demonstrated experience in event and program management, including reporting to funders
  • First Nation or Metis candidate preferred
  • Applicants must have a valid Drivers License, and provide a satisfactory Criminal and Child Abuse registry check.

Kikinahk is inviting persons qualified in Sage ACCPAC for this postion.
 
The Admin Assistant will Assist the E.D. and the Finance person with regular accounting and will be the backup for payroll and other payments in case of emergency, but will be particularly responsible for the creation and maintenance of regular written and financial reports to all the funding agencies on behalf of all 24 programs, to do monthly bank reconciliations, all monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports to different funding sources, including T4’s, Non- Profit and Registered Charities reports and returns, reconciliation of charitable receipts, of Kikinahk Friendship Centre, for the financial accountability of the Centre, for all payroll, and for all reporting to funders for the various programs in a timely manner.
 
This person is basically responsible for all REPORTS and to do that duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Become very knowledgeable with the individual contracts and requirements for services that are established regarding all of the programs at Kikinahk and in the Shelter.
  • Assist with maintenance of employee and working files in the bookkeeping unit.
  • Prepare a monthly financial report outlining any variances with possible solutions, reasons, or actions to rectify situations.
  • Maintain financial accountability for all Centre programs and operations.
  • Prepare all financial records in preparation for the annual audit.
  • Work with the auditors to ensure audit completion.
  • Preparation of deposits for cash and cheques from funded projects, and from revenues received from other sources.
  • Reconcile all Bank statements to accounts and ensure accuracy of our records.
  • Establishment and maintenance of payroll records.
  • Payment of employee deductions and employer contributions to
  • Receiver General.
  • Maintenance of records for sick leave and holiday pay.
  • Payment (by cheque) of accounts in a timely manner and recording thereof.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
